Our project experience includes both pressurized (PWR) and boiling water (BWR) type reactors, and we have performed services for plants which were designed and built by nearly all possible combinations of reactor designer and architect / engineer in the United States. Our familiarity with operating nuclear power plants and the idiosyncrasies of specific plant designs is unmatched in the US.  ILD has often been retained to independently verify technical product, as well as to integrate the many disparate evaluations required for a large project into a cohesive, technically accurate deliverable for the customer.  Our recent experience includes 8 such power uprate projects, including 5 BWR and 3 PWR plants.

Heat Rate Improvement

ILD has developed and implemented plant heat rate monitoring and improvement programs for both coal fired and nuclear plants nationwide. These programs have resulted in over 500,000 MWh of additional generation due to efficiency improvements alone, requiring no additional fuel consumption or associated environmental impact. These efficiency improvements were also responsible for over $US 25 million in additional profitability for the companies at which they were implemented.
