ILD has identified multiple applications for the Evisive microwave scanning technology in power plants. Evisive scan technology is a patented nondestructive method for characterizing the internal structure of a bulk dielectric material through the use of microwave energy. This technology is currently the only qualified method for volumetrically examining rubber expansion joints in nuclear power plants. Additionally, it has been demonstrated to be highly effective in examination of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe butt-fusion and electro-fusion joints.
